Family Ministries at FUMC

Families, children and youth are such an important part of our future! At FUMC we've invested in them as a whole. The Family Ministries program, run by Melissa Castleberry, is an integral part of who we are as a church. Come join us!

Easter Confirmations 2017

Confirmands from our spring 2017 confirmation class are confirmed in their faith by Pastor Howard Martin, Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017.

Weekly Activities

Children's ministries at FUMC are all about teaching the next generation of church leaders, volunteers and just plain old Christ followers! Our goal is to help children grow in their faith as they learn about the Bible and God's love.

  • The TreeHouse

The TreeHouse After School Program offers working parents an alternative to sending their young children home alone after school. The program serves children, ages kindergarten through 4th grade and is located at First United Methodist Church. Most of the support for The TreeHouse comes from the United Way, but we still have to work hard each year to raise additional funds to sustain the program.

Children are picked up at Central Elementary School at the end of the school day and are taken to the church where they are provided a healthy snack, homework assistance, tutoring and structured fun activities. The TreeHouse follows the Stephenville ISD calendar and is open from 3:00pm-5:30pm on school days. Children who ride the bus to Hook Elementary and Chamberlin Elementary are bused to The TreeHouse by the Stephenville ISD buses.

To qualify for The TreeHouse program, children must receive free or reduced lunches through the public school system and have working parents. Call The TreeHouse After School Program at (254) 965-9756, First United Methodist Church at (254) 965-5046 or contact Leann Pate for more information.
